About: Tuning with Haruna

About the blog:
Tuning with Haruna is a blog written and managed by Haruna Suzuki-Kerr.
The main contents are:
- Journal Club = short articles summarising research publications in scientific journals, related to hearing loss or the ear. I try to write for a broader, more general audience who are learning science or interested in science, rather than specialised auditory neuroscientists (except the methodology).
- Online live textbook of the cochlea = this is new content being slowly developed over the year 2026.
- STEM article = this is new content I would like to develop over time in the future, aimed at a younger audience (high school students, for example) to communicate about the ear.
About Haruna
- Passionate about doing and sharing science about the ear.
- A researcher at the University of Auckland (https://profiles.auckland.ac.nz/h-suzuki-kerr)
- I lead the Translational Ear Physiology Team in the Department of Physiology at the University of Auckland.
- Currently (2025-2029), I co-lead the Taringa Research and Innovation Platform (TRIP) research programme team with Professor Peter Thorne.
